Leadership We Can Trust - Lorena Corona

Lorena was born in Sacramento, California. She is the third of six children of an immigrant Mexican American family. When she was seven months old her family moved to Jalisco, Mexico. In 1997, she returned unable to speak English, unemployed, and afraid. She did not want to settle with this lifestyle. She dreamed of much more for her family. With this in mind, she enrolled at the San Bernardino Adult School to learn English. In less than a year she transferred to Chaffey Community College to continue learning English. Within five years, she earned five Associate Degrees and served as President of Student Trustee for two terms. From 2005 to 2010, Lorena attended Harvard University. There she earned a Bachelors and a Masters Degree. Since then, Lorena's dream has been to give back to the community that has provided so much for her.
